What is HTML?

Ever hear the words of HTML?

HTML is a markup language used to create a web page, displaying a variety of information in an Internet web browser and a simple hypertext formatting written into an ASCII file format to generate views terintegerasi beings. In other words, files created in word processing software and stored into a normal ASCII format so that a home page with HTML commands.
Starting from a previously widely used language in the world of publishing and printing called SGML (Standard Generalized Markup Language), HTML is a standard that is widely used to display web pages. HTML is now an Internet standard defined and controlled use by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). HTML created by TIM Caillau collaboration with Berners-lee robert when they are working at CERN in 1989 (CERN is a high-energy physics research institute in Geneva). [1]
  1. In 1980, IBM's thinking about making a document that will identify each element of the document with a certain mark. IBM then developed a type of language that combines text with formatting commands document. This is called Langiage Markup Language, a language which uses signs as its base. IBM calls this system as the Generalized Markup Language or GML.
  2. In 1986, the ISO states that IBM has a concept of a very good document, and then issued a publication (ISO 8879) which states as a standard markup language for creating documents. ISO makes this language from IBM's GML, but gave him another name, that is SGML (Standard Generalized Markup Language).
ISO in its publications believed that SGML will be very useful for text information processing and office systems. But beyond the estimates of ISO, especially a subset of SGML and SGML, HTML is also useful for exploring the Internet. Especially for those who use the World Wide Web. The latest version of HTML is HTML 4.01, though this time has developed XHTML which is the development of HTML.
